Hi there!
I spent the last 8 years working as a product guy in Silicon Valley. I do Product and Design. I ventured to the Valley because I felt that I had no idea how to build software. Few failed attempts really drove that feeling home.
Since then, it has been a wild ride. I found exactly what I was looking for and more. Things move fast at the risk of forgetting valuable lessons. I am having a blast working with friends. Building products that set our customers on fire. And getting better every day. I want to remember every moment of it.
The Last 3 Years
Growing with a startup from ~30 to almost 200 people. Growing customers and revenue significantly. It forces me to evolve the product as well as my product thinking, scaling, establishing processes. Lots of lessons learned.
Product life in a hyper growth startup…
It’s fast paced. You need to build and launch fast. Keep moving.
It’s a hunt. Your competitors are hunting you down. Be faster.
It is fulfilling. You are solving real problems. Make people’s life’s easier.
I want to share that excitement and some stories about the dangers that await the brave product people that enter this world.
I am starting a 10 session letter that focusses on “How to build better products” I am putting down all my truths and learnings. And I will complete this series in 2020.
I put them down to understand, I put them down to preserve the time I am living and I put them down so I don’t forget.
Join the crew
I get contacted by these daredevils that want to step into the exciting, wild and dangerous world of Product Management. I give them insights on how to get in. Help them master interviews and share best practices. And I help them survive a few days longer, once they step in.
Sometimes I answer reader’s questions in my letters. And I will also prioritize lessons based on feedback.
I will learn with you.
